Menstruation is a natural and a beautiful thing to happen to a woman and menstrual care after pregnancy is important.

But first, the starting of the menses in a girl indicates that she is now growing into a beautiful woman. Many people believe that, a woman is unclean during her menstruation. However, this is a false belief. And menstruation should not be looked up on with shame.

The Menstruation Cycle

The menstruation cycle usually starts by the age of fourteen in a girl; however, it may start as early as age ten sometimes. The menstruation cycle starts on the first day of the period and ends on the first day of the next period (this first day is not included). The cycle lasts for an average of twenty eight days. Sometimes it is longer. Periods or the flow of blood occurs for four or five days. The periods may be regular or irregular. Every woman’s menstruation cycle is unique. Even a daughter’s menstruation cycle may not follow the mother’s. The cycle continues until in the forties or early fifties, when a woman reaches menopause, her periods stop, and her childbearing years are over.

Menstruation Care after Pregnancy is Important. Here Are a Few Pointers.

When you start getting your menses after pregnancy, take care to relax enough.

You must wear clothes that are comfortable

You must drink lots of water and fresh fruit juices.

If the pain during your menstruation becomes unbearable, you should use a hot pack on your back and take an analgesic.

Maintain good hygiene during this time. It is very important, so that bacterial growth does not occur in your genitals.

Eat lots of fresh green leafy vegetables and fresh fruits. Green vegetables like spinach give you back the iron lost during your menses.

Have a good hot water bath.

Menstrual care after pregnancy is important. Take care and look after yourself well at this time.
